Weight Off Live FAQs
What actually is Weight Off Life?
Weight Off Life is a practical, UK-based, evidence-led resource for people who’ve lost weight and want help keeping it off in real life.
It’s not about weight loss.
It’s about what happens after — when the rules disappear, and normal life comes back.
Weight Off Life brings together solid science with real-world experience, inspiration, practical ideas, mindset shifts and strategies to help you build your own plan for keeping weight off long term.
Who is this for?
Mainly women aged 35+, especially midlife and beyond, but anyone who’s lost weight and wants long-term control without obsession will recognise themselves here.
If you’ve ever thought, “I can lose it, but I can’t keep it off”, you’re in the right place.
Does it matter how I lost the weight?
No. Whether it was:
- medication / GLP-1s
- surgery
- dieting or lifestyle changes
This resource starts from now, not how you got here.
That said, thinking about how you’ll keep weight off while you’re losing it is actually a brilliant time to start planning.
Is this another diet?
No — not at all.
This is about maintenance, not restriction.
It’s about having the information, understanding and ideas you need to decide what you can and can’t do to keep weight off after weight loss.
No rigid rules. No reset culture. No shame.
How does Weight Off Life actually work?
At the heart of Weight Off Life is one simple truth:
Every body and everybody is different.
So instead of telling you what to do, this helps you work out what works for you.
You go through four clear steps:
Step 1. Get real with yourself
You start by understanding how you are with food and drink — what you eat, when, why, what trips you up and what genuinely helps. You do this through a series of quizzes, exercises and more.
No judgement. Just honesty with yourself.
Step 2. Get savvy about food
You learn through reading all about the different types of food and latest evidence-based thinking and research on how different foods impact on weight. Its honest where science knows and where it doesn’t. This includes details of the ‘magic foods’ that help you keep weight off and should be the main part of your diet. There’s also hints, ideas, tips and hacks here too. Its all really easy to read and you can bookmark information or ideas as you go to add later into your plan.
Step 3. Explore the 24 tools for progress
You’re guided through 24 suggested relief tools (called the Shift List), covering science, habits, mindset and real-world very practical hints, tips, ideas and strategies. Save and bookmark as you read through to keep the ones you think will work for you.
You don’t do them all. You don’t do them in order. You pick and mix what’s useful to you at that point in your life.
4. Build your own personalised plan
You pull together what you’ve learned into your own keeping-weight-off plan.
As you move through the site, you can save ideas, information and decisions so everything you want is already there when you reach this stage.
Do I have to do all 4 steps?
You can miss out Step 1 – or just keep coming back to it as and when it feels right for you. But being totally honest with yourself and understanding the things you find both easy and hard will help make your plan much more realistic and effective for you.
You will need to read Step 2 and 3. This is where you get the information and ideas you need to create your plan.
Isn’t keeping weight off just about calories in and calories out?
Short answer: no.
Longer, more honest answer: calories can matter, but they’re only one part of the picture.
Weight is influenced by a whole mix of things, including:
- what you eat and drink, and how different foods behave in different bodies
- how you live day to day
- sleep, stress and hormones
- habits, routines and emotions
- family life, work, socialising and money
Weight Off Life is built around what we actually know helps people keep weight off long term — and that’s never just about numbers on a plate or a tracker.
If it’s not just about food, what is it about?
Weight Off Life is built on three foundations, because real life doesn’t happen in silos.
Nourish
Nourish is about being intentional with food and drink, rather than aiming for perfection or following rigid rules. It focuses on understanding how everyday eating and drinking choices can support keeping weight off, without turning meals into stress or guilt.
Food isn’t just fuel. It’s pleasure, culture and connection — and pretending otherwise is why so many plans fall apart.
Live
Live is about making sure your plan fits real life, not an ideal one. Weight maintenance sits alongside work, family, socialising, travel, stress, tiredness and everything else life throws at you.
If your plan only works in perfect conditions, it won’t last.
Feel
Feel focuses on the mental and emotional side of keeping weight off — the bit that’s often ignored, but usually makes or breaks things.
It’s about understanding how mindset, emotions, self-image and past experiences influence eating, motivation and consistency. This isn’t about fixing yourself — it’s about understanding yourself.
So where does mindset fit into all this?
Everywhere.
You can eat well and move more, but if you:
- panic at small weight changes
- beat yourself up for every slip
- believe you’ve “failed” the moment things aren’t perfect
… then keeping weight off becomes exhausting.
Weight Off Life helps you build confidence, trust and resilience — not just habits.
Does Weight Off Life just give me a quick easy answer and routine?
No. Because it doesn’t exist. If it did, no one would put weight back on.
But Weight Off Life will give you the facts, evidence, information and so many ideas, inspiration, tips and hacks so you can create your own plan. One that will work with you and your life.
What’s the failsafe everyone needs to accept?
This one’s important.
Your weight and size will go up and down.
That’s not a personal flaw — it’s being human.
Everyone who keeps weight off long term accepts that:
- sometimes life happens
- sometimes routines slip
- sometimes weight creeps up
When that happens, the failsafe is simple: you notice, you reset, and you lose a bit again — without drama, shame or starting from scratch.
That’s not failure. That’s maintenance.
So what’s the big takeaway?
Keeping weight off isn’t about control — it’s about adaptation.
Nourish your body.
Live in a way that’s realistic.
Feel comfortable in your own skin and emotions.
And when things drift — which they will — you adjust and carry on.
That’s how weight stays off in the real world.
Do I have to do everything?
Absolutely not.
This isn’t school. There’s no gold star.
Sometimes you’ll feel motivated and want to try a few things.
Other times you’ll just need one small tweak to steady the ship.
You choose what fits your body, your life and your head — knowing that what feels right will keep changing.
What if my plan stops working?
That’s normal. And expected.
Plans aren’t meant to last forever. Life changes:
- new baby
- new job
- kids growing up
- menopause
- stress
- boredom
- just feeling “this isn’t me anymore”
Weight Off Life is designed so you can keep revisiting and reworking your plan as you change.
You’re not failing — you’re adapting.
Do I have to do it all at once?
No. Do it in your own time. Dip in and out. Take time out to reflect. Whilst you’re subscribed its all saved so you can come in and out.
Can I use this while I’m still losing weight?
Yes — and it’s actually a brilliant time to start.
While you’re losing weight:
- food noise may be quieter
- routines may be more structured
- you’ve got space to think
This is the perfect moment to start asking: “What happens when this phase ends?”
The food advice in this resource is not guidance on what to eat while following a diet or taking medication. If you’re on medication, you should always discuss food and drink with your medical adviser or weight-loss provider.
This resource is about what happens after.
Can I use this while I’m on weight-loss medication?
Yes.
Being on medication often reduces food noise, which creates mental space to think ahead. That makes it an ideal time to start building a plan for what comes next.
Weight Off Life was created by someone who lost over 100lb and credits advance planning — done during a highly structured phase — as key to long-term maintenance.
Again, this resource doesn’t replace medical advice. Any decisions about your food and drink while on medication should be discussed with your healthcare provider.
What about cutting down or stopping medication?
This resource does not advise on whether you should reduce or stop medication.
Any decisions about medication must be made with your medical advisers and provider.
Weight Off Life focuses solely on what you can do after weight loss, not how to lose weight in the first place or how to manage your weight loss medication.
Will my weight stay exactly the same forever?
No. Bodies don’t work like that.
Some regain is normal and, for most people, inevitable.
This resource helps you decide:
- what range feels OK
- when to take action
- when to stop beating yourself up
Control without obsession.
Will you tell me what weight or size I should be?
No. That’s your decision.
This isn’t about chasing thinness or a number.
It’s about staying healthy, comfortable and in control at a size that works for you.
Is this anti body-positivity?
No — it’s pro body autonomy.
You can accept your body and want to manage your weight.
Those things are not opposites.
Is the information actually evidence-based?
Yes.
Everything is grounded in:
- up-to-date research on food, hormones and behaviour
- real-world experience
- honesty where science is still evolving or disputed
No miracle claims. No guru nonsense.
Why do I need a subscription?
Because the science doesn’t stand still — especially around hormones, food and medication.
The site is updated as:
- new research emerges
- understanding changes
- tools evolve
Your plan will also change over time. What works straight after weight loss may not work years later.
Subscriptions are for 3 months or 12 months, with no automatic renewal.
You choose if and when you come back.
Am I tied in to automatic renewal?
No. Weight Off Life is ethical about not tying you into a subscription. There is no automatic renewal. You pay upfront for your plan. Towards the end you’ll get an email saying its due to expire and if you want to renew you can do this. We will never automatically take future payments from you.
Is there support from other people?
Yes. There’s a forum where you can connect with others who are also building — and rebuilding — their own plans.
No comparison. No judgement. Just people who get it.
If I return, are my bookmarks, quizes and plans saved?
Yes, if you come back it’s all there for you to just pick up, review and update.
Do I need to buy anything else once subscribed?
No. There is nothing to buy. ts a self help programme which gives you all the information and facts you need to design a plan for you to keep weight off.
